Bollywood weddings are known for their extravagance and luxurious charm making us want to be a part of it too. With the trends of pastel lehengas to the subtlety of the mute tones, Bollywood brides have done it all. But, Rakul Preet Singh chose something different for her wedding!

She recently got married to her long time boyfriend Jacky Bhagnani hosting a lavish wedding in Goa. Her wedding caught the attention of her fans and the media not only because of the star studded couple but also because of Rakul Preet Singh’s haldi lehenga.

In a world where every bride dreams of being a Sabyasachi bride and every haldi look becomes a shade of orange or yellow, Rakul Preet Singh opted for funky, bold and colourful. Her Papa Don’t Preach lehenga was a testament to her bubbly and cheerful nature making her outfit more special and personal.

The purple-blue bohemian lehenga brought out the essence of traditional and modernism perfectly with its intricate design. The lehenga was decked with gold ornaments, sequins and threadwork. Not to mention the sleeveless choli was an exquisite amalgamation of floral applique embroidery and mirror adornments plunging necklines and stunning patterns. To add to the overall look, the yellow colour of the haldi complimented her outfit perfectly, seamlessly blending the two.

While Rakul Preet Singh’s outfit was standalone enough to turn heads, her statement accessories helped uplift the outfit. Bohemian floral jewellery pieces, matching bracelets and gold rings helped completed the overall look of the outfit.

Amidst the buzz surrounding her attire, it was her makeup that subtly captivated attention. With a delicate touch, she wore a glossy lip shade and expertly applied smokey eye shadow, ensuring her look remained elegant. This minimalist approach ensured that her makeup complemented rather than overshadowed both her stunning outfit and the radiant bride herself.

Comfort is key. Especially if it’s your wedding and are planning to dance till your feet hurt. Rakul Preet Singh chose comfort when it came to footwear. Her embroidered and beaded pink sneakers by Papa Don’t Preach were a fun and quirky add on to the outfit. Ditching the high heels, she decided to normalise sneakers for a grand occasion that aligned with her outfit perfectly.

Rakul Preet Singh’s stylist, Ami Patel wrote “The perfect haldi lehenga from @papadontpreachbyshubhika, reflecting the spirit of joy, fun and mischief of the occasion and ditching floral jewellery for this customised beaded floral earnings”.

Papa don’t preach truly gave us an inspiration that was far from the usual, leaving us wanting to be a Papa don’t preach bride, all while starting a bohemian wedding trend packed with boldness and colour.

Weddings are an intimate memory for each one of us, and what makes a wedding truly special is being your true self, instead of following a trend. Rakul Preet Singh did just that by choosing something that was far from cliché, embodying her personality through her fashion.

Comment below on what do you think about Rakul Preet Singh’s haldi lehenga and whether you’d also love to be a Papa Don’t Preach bride.

Until next time!
